Christmas Fun

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  Ours was great!!  Katie must have been a really good girl this year as she got double the Santa....presents from him at her Dad's house and presents from him at my house.  Here is a picture of the load from my house.
She even found this cool new yellow (Katie's favorite color) Nano in her stocking!

Santa also brought her the cool new High School Musical School!

Here is a picture of Katie with her YaYa and the Virginia Rose picture of Katie. Mom has one of both me and Paxton too. The lady who does them is amazing. She does the portrait by just looking at the person and cutting their profile out with scissors on black paper!

Katie also got a cool new bike from YaYa and Mr. Steve. They have the perfect street for her to ride her bike on.

Now all of Mr. Steve's kids have made it to town so we will be busy for the next couple of days hanging out with them and doing fun stuff. More pictures will follow I'm sure as I am making it a point to be a better blogger no matter how many hours I put on the computer at work!!

Yes Virginia, Heather does still blog

So there is no excuse that I have let it go this long with no update. I will say that after being at work all day on the computer, I usually don't even want to look at my computer much less turn it on and type more stuff. I have so many pictures that I need to post but as it is, I am writing this blog from work and don't have all of them with me here. I think I have a few though. Things are moving right along here and going great. Katie is off of school for the next two weeks and she deserves a break. As always her grades are spectacular. Work is good for me. I was super busy for the past month but should have an easy going week this week since most people are on vacation for the holiday. Looking forward to having a fun and relaxing Christmas and wish the same to all my friends and family!!!

A Howling Good Time

This Saturday we celebrated my baby turning 9 by having a slumber party at the Great Wolf Lodge. All I can say is that if you ever get a chance to go stay at there you will not be disappointed! The water park was awesome. The slides are so much fun. My favorite was the Howling Tornado. Part of the slide actually goes outside of the building. My other favorite slide is one that you twirl around in like you are being flushed down the toilet. Katie really enjoyed the big bucket dump and slides. After a day of fun filled water activities we went back up to our kids cabin and got dressed and opened up some presents. Her friends all gave her great gifts. We had dinner and then on the wand scavenger hunt throughout the hotel. You buy a wand and then there is a game where you look for different things on all of the floors of the hotel. It takes about 4 to 5 hours to finish the game. We played for about an hour and half and then the girls were wiped out. We had breakfast in the morning and then another trip to the water park to finish off the celebration. A huge THANKS to my best friend in the world Shay for all of your help! She braved the slumber party with me and also bought me a super cute pair of pjs (see picture below).

The Mustang Stampede

On Friday Katie's school had their Mustang Stampede Fundraiser. Basically people would sponser Katie with money for her run around the school. They had 30 minutes to see how many laps they could run around the entire school. The weather was beautiful that morning and Katie had quite the cheering the section. She ran nine laps and had the red face to prove it. I joined in and ran the last lap with her. As usual, I am so very proud of her.

Peace, Love & Middle School

Friday was my last day at the middle school. My last week was also spirit week so it was really fun to dress up. Tuesday was decade day and at first I wasn't going to dress up but then my mom had so much to offer when it came to dressing like the 60's. Here are some pictures from the day. Keep in mind that the brown vest thing actually went to a Hendrix concert....my stuff was authentic!! Thanks mom for all of the cool stuff!!!

Rough Rider Pumpkin Patch

Katie and I went to the Rough Rider baseball field for a little fall fun.  They were putting on a pumpkin patch for the kids.  The pumpkins were all out in the outfield and Katie had a blast running around.  I had never been the the ballpark before and it is great.  I would love to go to a game sometime.  By the way, for those of you wondering about the glasses, they are purely a Katie fashion statement....

Sounds of Class

Last night we went to UTD (University of Texas at Dallas) and hung out at Sounds of Class. Shay, Audrey and Sam came along and we had the BEST time. The UTD students put on a fair and teach the kids all kinds of science stuff, math things and just fun games. The Richardson symphony also put on a show and there was fireworks at the end. We took a blanket and a picnic dinner and just hung out and relaxed.

Feels So Good!

Today I put the camera in my hand and went out and took some pictures of one of my favorite subjects....Katie. It felt so good to be out with my camera taking pictures. The thrill of coming home to Photoshop had my heart beating at a quicker pace than usual. It has been so long. The nice part was we didn't have to go far to scout out the great location. All of the pictures were taken by the lake right across the street from my mom's house. Here are some of my favorites from the day.
