Sounds of Class

Last night we went to UTD (University of Texas at Dallas) and hung out at Sounds of Class. Shay, Audrey and Sam came along and we had the BEST time. The UTD students put on a fair and teach the kids all kinds of science stuff, math things and just fun games. The Richardson symphony also put on a show and there was fireworks at the end. We took a blanket and a picnic dinner and just hung out and relaxed.

Feels So Good!

Today I put the camera in my hand and went out and took some pictures of one of my favorite subjects....Katie. It felt so good to be out with my camera taking pictures. The thrill of coming home to Photoshop had my heart beating at a quicker pace than usual. It has been so long. The nice part was we didn't have to go far to scout out the great location. All of the pictures were taken by the lake right across the street from my mom's house. Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Yummy!

Katie and I have been dying to try out this new little place off of Lebanon and the Tollway called The Cupcakery. Boy was it a mistake stopping by today. I think I will now crave their cupcakes everyday. I guess this is the first store in Texas as the other two are in Viva Las Vegas. Anyway Katie got a cupcake called "Tickle Me Pink" and I got one called "Oh My Gosh something" Both were absolutely fabulous. They are pretty proud of their cupcakes when it comes to pricing them but well worth it every now and then for a treat.

Katie really getting into her cupcake!

Nice cupcake teeth!

Quick Update

Sorry it has been a while since my last post. Both Katie and I have been busy with our new daily schedules. Third grade is off to a great start for Katie. She adores her teacher this year and is already getting good grades on her work....no surprise there. I am enjoying my position as a special ed aide at Griffin middle school. The kids are sweet and I feel as if I am somewhat making a difference for those who have a hard time learning. Katie is still riding and loving it. Big plans to go to the barn this weekend if the weather will hold out for us. This crazy gusty wind was not kind to our riding plans for the week. Well, I said quick update so that is it!
