Fun at Fair Park

Katie and I headed out to Fair Park on Saturday morning to go to the Science Museum. We got there a little early so we could walk around the lake and see the turtles and fish too. We had a blast taking pictures and checking things out.

After hanging out with the big elephant and climbing trees, it was time to go inside the Science Museum and turn into spies!! Of course I am updating this post from work and just realized that I only have one picture of that.

So after doing some spying we went to find out more about the human body. Katie got to stand underneath a giant sneezing nose, see what it looks like on the inside when mucous runs down the back of the throat and also what it looks like from the inside when someone throws up....all such lovely things! Katie also made some huge bubbles! We had such a great time!!!

V is for Volleyball

Katie had her very first volleyball game last Saturday and she did so great and we won! She got 5 points in a row off of her awesome serving!!! I was so proud of her and I can't wait for the next game. Who knew that my kid would be so good at volleyball? I was horrible! It always hurt my arms and let's face it folks, I'm not exactly at the best height for the sport. Here are a few shots of the game....

The Makings of a Pizza

The other night Katie and I decided to make a pizza. It was so fun! In case you don't know how....here are the instructions along with illustrations of how to make a pizza according to Katie.

Step 1 - Toss the pizza dough crust even though it is already pre-baked. Tossing is just too much fun of a step to miss!

Step 2 - Spread some sauce on the crust.

Step 3 - Sprinkle the cheese over the sauce.

Step 4 - Maybe eat some of the yummy cheese you are supposed to be putting on the pizza!

Step 5 - Put pizza in oven and wait for the finished product....Voila!

Field Trip Fun

Katie had an awesome school field trip on Tuesday. Her class went to the Elm Fork Learning Center at the University of North Texas. They had five different activities that they went to. All the kids had a blast, learned alot and the weather was great....good thing we went before the 09 rainy season.

She is not just "Sew -Sew"

Katie has been dying to get a sewing machine. Now this brings up not so good memories for me. See, when I was in high school I had to take a sewing class as an elective. Let me just say that without the help of my mom and grandmother it would have been ugly. But anyway, Katie has had it in her mind that she could make the most wonderful things if she just had a sewing machine. So, for her all "A" report card reward this is what she got......

The Mustang Stampede

On Friday Katie's school had their Mustang Stampede Fundraiser. Basically people would sponser Katie with money for her run around the school. They had 30 minutes to see how many laps they could run around the entire school. The weather was beautiful that morning and Katie had quite the cheering the section. She ran nine laps and had the red face to prove it. I joined in and ran the last lap with her. As usual, I am so very proud of her.

Rough Rider Pumpkin Patch

Katie and I went to the Rough Rider baseball field for a little fall fun.  They were putting on a pumpkin patch for the kids.  The pumpkins were all out in the outfield and Katie had a blast running around.  I had never been the the ballpark before and it is great.  I would love to go to a game sometime.  By the way, for those of you wondering about the glasses, they are purely a Katie fashion statement....

Feels So Good!

Today I put the camera in my hand and went out and took some pictures of one of my favorite subjects....Katie. It felt so good to be out with my camera taking pictures. The thrill of coming home to Photoshop had my heart beating at a quicker pace than usual. It has been so long. The nice part was we didn't have to go far to scout out the great location. All of the pictures were taken by the lake right across the street from my mom's house. Here are some of my favorites from the day.
