Katie and I headed out to Fair Park on Saturday morning to go to the Science Museum. We got there a little early so we could walk around the lake and see the turtles and fish too. We had a blast taking pictures and checking things out.
After hanging out with the big elephant and climbing trees, it was time to go inside the Science Museum and turn into spies!! Of course I am updating this post from work and just realized that I only have one picture of that.
So after doing some spying we went to find out more about the human body. Katie got to stand underneath a giant sneezing nose, see what it looks like on the inside when mucous runs down the back of the throat and also what it looks like from the inside when someone throws up....all such lovely things! Katie also made some huge bubbles! We had such a great time!!!

Round Up!!
Katie is always keeping me on my toes. One day she is this super sweet girlie girl who wants a sewing machine and makes pretty pillows and then the next day she is this crazy girl who wants to go to Sweetwater Texas so that she can see the world's largest rattlesnake roundup! That's right folks....enjoy these creepy pictures from our trip to the Rattlesnake Roundup in Sweetwater. I can honestly say that I totally underestimated the creepiness of all the snakes and the constant sound of their rattles.

The Makings of a Pizza
The other night Katie and I decided to make a pizza. It was so fun! In case you don't know how....here are the instructions along with illustrations of how to make a pizza according to Katie.
Step 1 - Toss the pizza dough crust even though it is already pre-baked. Tossing is just too much fun of a step to miss!
Step 2 - Spread some sauce on the crust.
Step 3 - Sprinkle the cheese over the sauce.
Step 4 - Maybe eat some of the yummy cheese you are supposed to be putting on the pizza!
Step 5 - Put pizza in oven and wait for the finished product....Voila!

Blah
So as you can tell from the picture above I'm feeling very blah. Started feeling kinda yucky on Friday and by Saturday afternoon I was blah. I decided to go ahead and go to the doctor because I am so busy at work with a RFP that there is no way I can miss any work. In the end, I have a bad sinus infection and an ear infection in both ears. So, I'm sure with all that I'm taking I will be in top shape by tomorrow!

$80
$80 can buy alot of things. It can buy you 80 items on the Wendy's $.99 menu. It can buy you a new pair of Lucky jeans if they are on sale. It can buy you quite a few groceries. For me $80 buys me toll fees every month to go to and come home from work. As I have tried to become a little bit more budget minded I took a look at that and thought that was just too much to spend to just travel on roads. Obviously there are other roads that I can take to work that are free. So, since I didn't have to take Katie to school, I decided to leave a little bit early and take free roads to work this morning. I figured I wouldn't give up toll roads completely. I would take free roads in the morning because one is really never in a rush to get to work and I figured there would be some extra time involved not traveling a toll road and then take the toll roads in the afternoon. I would be saving $40 a month! This was much easier said than done. Sure the roads were free this morning but I guess so were all of the red lights that I had to stop at and the 20mph school zones. My car is German, it longs for the lightless stretches of toll road that you can freely zoom down as if it were the Autobahn not the constant stop/start of morning traffic. And to top it off, some crazy driver in a Suburban decided to take a left from the middle lane right in front of me! This would have never happened on the toll road!!! So, I think I have decided that maybe I can cut $40 out of the budget somewhere else.

Settling In
After much work, I finally feel like we are settling in at our new place....as in all of us (including Chico and Frida). Pictures are hung on the wall, vines are hung up in Katie's room and boxes are unpacked. But, does all that mean that it feels like home? What makes a place feel like home? I think the people and the memories made are what makes a place feels like home. I recently went to the movies with Shay and we saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Buton. Great, great movie! A movie that makes you think. Anyway, the character of his mom in the movie said something that really started me thinking, she said "You never know what life has coming for you." I find this to be so very true. I want to think that what life has coming for me and my baby girl will be filled with much happiness and lots of new fun memories! By the way, the picture of Chico has absolutely nothing to do with this post, I just thought it was a cute picture of him.

New Apartment Pics
Well here are some pictures of the new place....these are the kind of days when a wide angle lens would be total heaven. With that being said, the pics don't really do the place justice....I think it is much cuter in person!

Yes Virginia, Heather does still blog
So there is no excuse that I have let it go this long with no update. I will say that after being at work all day on the computer, I usually don't even want to look at my computer much less turn it on and type more stuff. I have so many pictures that I need to post but as it is, I am writing this blog from work and don't have all of them with me here. I think I have a few though. Things are moving right along here and going great. Katie is off of school for the next two weeks and she deserves a break. As always her grades are spectacular. Work is good for me. I was super busy for the past month but should have an easy going week this week since most people are on vacation for the holiday. Looking forward to having a fun and relaxing Christmas and wish the same to all my friends and family!!!

Sounds of Class
Last night we went to UTD (University of Texas at Dallas) and hung out at Sounds of Class. Shay, Audrey and Sam came along and we had the BEST time. The UTD students put on a fair and teach the kids all kinds of science stuff, math things and just fun games. The Richardson symphony also put on a show and there was fireworks at the end. We took a blanket and a picnic dinner and just hung out and relaxed.
